Niagara Catholic Technology Students Host Safety Awareness Day Event at Niagara Launch Centre

In partnership with the Niagara Launch Centre powered by Niagara Catholic District School Board – the Niagara Construction Association (NCA) held its second annual Niagara Safety Awareness Day   at the Niagara Launch Centre.  This was a free community based event focused on bringing awareness to Construction Safety in Niagara!

Approximately 80 of our students from Notre Dame College School, Lakeshore Catholic High School and Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School, who are currently in the technology programs that run out of the Niagara Launch Centre, were in attendance.  These students had the opportunity to visit the many exhibitors that were on hand to provide valuable information and presentations regarding health and safety for workers and the workplace.

NCA members were also in attendance and they were given the opportunity to:

  • Tour and learn about the Niagara Launch Centre facility
  • Discuss projects Niagara Catholic technology students do within the community with different partners
  • Learn about the programs offered to students (Training Certifications)
  • Learn about the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)
  • Learn about Niagara Catholic’s Co-op Programs, which offer free placement and insurance for students on-site covered by the Ministry of Education.
  • Discover the different opportunities they have to work with industry/construction companies and help our trades people of tomorrow!
