2015 Pilgrimage Celebrates 40 Years on October 25

Forty years ago, Father Jim Mulligan returned to Notre Dame College School following a sabbatical in France with an idea: Students should participate in a Pilgrimage as he had done in France; a symbolic walk to raise funds and awareness for a specific cause.

Over time, the Notre Dame Pilgrimage has grown to become the Niagara Catholic Pilgrimage, and it is one of the most important dates on the school year calendar. The causes and nations supported through Pilgrimage are as diverse as the schools.

This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 25.

To date, our students, staff and alumni have raised more than $6 million for the following causes:

Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School

Registration at 8:30 a.m.; Prayer service at 9 a.m.; Barbecue to follow at 12:30 p.m.

A variety of projects in Las Pajas, Dominican Republic.

Denis Morris Catholic High School

Registration at 8:30 a.m.; Leave school to walk to Market Square at 9 a.m.; Mass with Holy Cross and Saint Francis at Market Square at 10:30 a.m.; Walk through downtown at 11:30 a.m.; Lunch approximately 12:30 p.m.

Ecole Immaculee Conception in Pilate, Haiti and Wells of Hope in Guatemala.

Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School

Lakeshore Catholic High School

Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School
