The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act requires all publicly funded organizations to examine their facilities annually to ensure that they are progressing in their efforts to become more accessible to persons with disabilities. Under the Act, school boards are required to file annual accessibility plans that address the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to persons with disabilities.
The Niagara Catholic District School Board is committed to the continued improvement of access to facilities, (policies, programs, practices and services) for all.
The Board’s Accessibility Working Group, guided by provincial legislation including the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA), the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code, reports on the participation of people with disabilities in the development and review of its annual accessibility plans.
