Celebrating Canadian History at Niagara Catholic Heritage Fair

Throughout the late winter and early spring Junior and Intermediate students in Niagara Catholic elementary schools researched projects related to Canadian history, focusing on people, businesses and events that shaped the country we are so fortunate to live in today. The best of these projects were invited to Niagara Catholic’s annual Heritage Fair, which took place recently at Brock University.

Three students will move on to the Provincial Heritage Fair in Toronto June 14-15.

Emily Warren, a Grade 8 student at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School won first place for her project, “Women and the War of 1812.” Her classmate,  Gabe Murray, finished second with his project, “The 1st Canadian Paratrooper Battalion,” and Luca Hladysh-Dosa, a Grade 6 student at St. Peter Catholic Elementary School, finished third. His project was about Sir Isaac Brock.
