Celebrating the Past, Looking to the Future

On Monday, June 23, students from Michael J. Brennan Catholic Elementary School paid their final visit to St. James Catholic Elementary School before the schools are consolidated in September. During an hour-long celebration attended by Board Chair Kathy Burtnik, Director of Education John Crocco and representatives from Niagara Catholic, SVEDAS Architects and Charter Construction, the students came together in song and in prayer, celebrating the many years of excellence in Catholic education at Michael J. Brennan and the bright future ahead at St. James.

Michael J. Brennan students brought special treasures from their school to St. James, and these items will have a place of honour in their new location. As well, the library at St. James Catholic Elementary School will be named in honour of Michael J. Brennan.

The celebration also included the official unveiling of a sign depicting how the new St. James Catholic Elementary School will look when it is completed.
