Saint Michael Students Recipients of Allister Young Arts & Culture Endowment Fund 2012
Congratulations to Stephanie Oliver and Nicole Panday both graduating students from Saint Michael Catholic High School. The students are the recipients of the 2012 Allister Young Arts & Culture Endowment Fund.
In 1997, Mr. Allister Young donated a 1932 Ford Roadster to the then Arts and Culture
Commission. The car was raffled off and the money raised from the sale of tickets was used to establish an Arts and Culture Endowment Fund. Over the past two years the Arts & Culture Committee has been working towards developing a new and improved endowment fund in order to provide more benefit to the recipient and the community.
Applicants must be residents of Niagara Falls, be in grade 12 or above (ages 16 to 100), and be active artists in any creative arts field.
The Arts & Culture Committee chose to award two $500 awards in 2012. The intention is to provide one award of $1000 to one individual per year in the future.
Stephanie and Nicole were presented with their cheques on Saturday, June 9, at 7:00 pm at the Niagara Falls Art Gallery, 8058 Oakwood Drive, during the Niagara Literary Arts Festival’s “After Affair Reading”.
