Minutes of the Meeting of the Niagara Catholic District School Board, held on Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room, at the Catholic Education Centre, 427 Rice Road, Welland.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Chairperson, Rev. Kenneth Burns.

4. Disclosure of Interest
Disclosures of Interest were declared by trustees Joseph Noonan and Joseph Mancuso, with Items H3 and H4 of the In Camera Agenda. These trustees have family members who are teachers, or employees of the Board and left the meeting during discussion of these items.

2. O.C.S.T.A. Student Awards
Father Burns, on behalf of the Board, made a presentation to each nominee for the O.C.S.T.A. Student Award. Marianne Bowman introduced Tracey Docherty of Denis Morris High School; Lee Ann Forsyth-Sells introduced nominee Joanna Barchanska of Monsignor Clancy High School; Sherry Shuttler introduced Trevor Plug of St. Charles School, and Pat Pacecca introduced Erin Kelly of Blessed Trinity High School.
3. Niagara Region Science & Engineering Fair Awards
Father Burns called on Bruce Dunn, teacher at Denis Morris High School to provide background on the Fair and to introduce the winner of 4 awards at the Niagara Region Science & Engineering Fair, Jenny Lee. Father Burns made a presentation to Jenny Lee on behalf of the Board.

The Director spoke to this item and recommended that the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson and other trustees seek appointments with the Members of Provincial Parliament of this region to talk about this important issue.
