In keeping with the traditions of the Niagara Catholic District School Board, the opening exercises at all schools will include a prayer or reading that reflects the gospel values and Catholic faith.

To instill pride and respect for self and country, schools in the Niagara Catholic District School Board shall include the singing of "O Canada" in opening or closing exercises.

Principals, in co-operation with Catholic School Councils, may include the recitation of a pledge of citizenship as part of the opening or closing ceremony.

The Director of Education will establish administrative guidelines and procedures for the implementation of this policy.
