Niagara Catholic Hosts Annual Roots of Empathy Celebration

For 18 years, Niagara Catholic has participated in the Roots of Empathy program, a global movement aimed at helping children think beyond themselves and gain empathy for others by following the development of a baby in the classroom throughout the year. The children learn about the needs of others – and about the rapid development of a baby from newborn to toddler – by observing and interacting with them in class.

In Niagara, the Roots of Empathy program is co-ordinated by the Early Childhood Community Development Centre, and takes place in Niagara Catholic schools, as well as schools in our coterminus boards.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this event together today, and a special thank you to our young teachers, for the lessons and love they brought into the lives of our schools throughout the year.  Check out our Facebook page, Instagram  and Twitter for other photos and video.
