SpeakOutThe ability to speak with confidence in front of a crowd is one of the most valuable life skills a person can have.
To help develop this skill, each year Niagara Catholic hosts the annual Speak Out! public speaking competition. Students in Grades 4-8 begin writing speeches in early January, and spend time writing and revising them before finally presenting them to their classrooms. One student per class is chosen to participate in a school-wide competition, with winners then being selected to participate in area events.
The Junior and Intermediate winners from each area event, as well as the Catholic Messenger Award recipient, were chosen to deliver their speeches in the Speak Out! Showcase at the Catholic Education Centre in late February.
Congratulations to all those who took part in public speaking events, and to this year’s winners.
