Loretto Catholic is in its 12th year of operation. It is a unique facility as it is the only “joint-use” school in Niagara Falls. While we operate completely independently, we do share some physical space with the school from our coterminous District Board, namely Kate S. Durdan School.
Loretto Catholic was named in honour of the Loretto Sisters, in recognition of their dedicated and inspiring service to the cause of Catholic education. As a community of dedicated, educated and religious women, the Loretto Sisters constantly attempted to discern the needs of the times in order to better serve the people. They also had an exemplary reputation for quality education through teaching. “To educate is to lead others to the truth, to draw forth, to provide opportunity and to promote human dignity.” We can only hope to emulate the excellent standard and the name, which preceded us.
Total enrolment as of September 2011: 520
