Building Healthy Relationships: Parents Matter
The partnership of home, school and church in the Niagara Catholic District School Board supports the growth and development of students spiritually and academically to achieve success in school.
Research has shown that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in the Catholic education of their students. Students are more likely to be motivated, strive for higher grades, have better behaviour and social skills, and continue their education to a higher level when their parents are actively engaged in supporting their success at school. Parent involvement is a key factor in the enhancement of student achievement and well-being.
As a parent, you have a strong influence on your children’s attitudes toward school learning and future success. When you are involved in your children’s learning from kindergarten to high school, you are giving them an important head start in school and in life. An engaged parent is an interested parent!
