St. Michael Catholic Elementary School Student Wins Bronze at Canada-Wide Science Fair

BethanyCongratulations to Bethany Poltl, a Grade 7 student at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Bethany won a gold medal at the Niagara Regional Science and Engineering Fair for her project Jitter Bug: How HFCS Affects the Longevity, Fertility & Behaviour of Drosophila, which earned her a berth in the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Fredericton earlier this month.

Bethany came home from Fredericton with an Excellence Award – Junior, for her Bronze Medal in her division. She also received a $1,000 entrance scholarship from the University of Western Ontario.
