Welcome back to school! The new school year is upon us and there are lots of exciting things to celebrate this first month of the 2014-2015 school year!
The first day of school is always an exciting time, and on September 2nd, we are thrilled to welcome approximately 1,800 first-time students and their families to Niagara Catholic. Whether it’s your child’s very first day of school, you’re a student joining us part-way your education or you’re returning to school at one of our Adult and Continuing Education Learning Centres, welcome to the Niagara Catholic family!
International Literacy Day is September 7th, 2014. Pick up your favourite book or magazine to celebrate the joys of being able to read.
On September 8th, students at Lakeshore Catholic High School will celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony to officially launch the 5-million renovation and expansion of the school. Construction will take place at Lakeshore Catholic throughout the school and Gators will celebrate the completed school in 2015.
The Niagara Catholic Parent Involvement Committee meeting will take place on September 11th. If you are interested in becoming a part of the NCPIC, please contact your child’s school.
The annual Niagara Foundation for Catholic Education golf tournament will take place at Legends on the Niagara on September 17th. Spots are still available. To register your foursome, or to make a prize donation, please contact organizer Sue Baxter at 905.735.0240 ext. 321. You can also contact her with your donation or foundation request at firstname.lastname@example.org. This event raises funds for scholarships for our graduating secondary school students, to assist them with their post-secondary studies.
On September 27th, Niagara Catholic will once again participate in the Niagara Wine Festival’s Grande Parade. This event is a long-standing tradition in St. Catharines and Niagara Catholic is always excited to send student ambassadors from all of our Catholic elementary and secondary schools to participate.
