In partnership with the Pelham Public Library, St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School recently hosted a visit from Canadian author, feminist and peace activist Deborah Ellis. During her time at St. Alexander, Ms. Ellis spoke with students in Grades 6-8 about the experiences of children all over the world.

Ms. Ellis is the author of more than 20 books, including her most recent, The Cat at the Wall, about a cat who slips into a small house on the Palestine side of the West Bank, only to have a child hiding under the floor board. She is the recipient of a number of prestigious literary awards including the Governor General’s Award, and has donated more than $1 million in royalties for causes affecting disenfranchised people around the world.
