For months, students in Niagara Catholic’s many technology programs have been learning new tricks and techniques, honing their skills, in anticipation of the Board’s annual Technology Skills Competition.
On March 9, approximately 275 participants put their skills to the test in 23 different categories, ranging from the traditional trades of construction, cabinet making and electrical wiring to hair styling and aesthetics, photography and new media, at the Scotiabank Convention Centre, in the Board’s 13th Annual Technology Skills Competition.
As it has in previous years, the event was open to the public and many parents stopped by to watch their children and other students in action. Students from for Catholic elementary schools participated in the Young Build event sponsored by Home Depot, and residents from Niagara Region retirement residents were also brought to the event to watch the students ply their skills.
