Student mental health is one of Niagara Catholic’s key focuses, and every year Niagara Catholic has a student conference that focuses on the health and wellness of students.
On April 26, Niagara Catholic’s annual Youth Wellness Conference took place at the Holiday Inn St. Catharines and more than 300 Niagara Catholic students participated in the event.
Spoken word artist Britta B. started the day by sharing her experiences growing up, and then students worked in groups to discuss how to de-stigmatize mental health in schools in the community, and how to help students living with mental health challenges.
The day also featured Jack.org, a national network of young student leaders aimed at promoting mental health in youth. Check our Facebook page for video of our students explaining how they alleviate stress in schools.Good News
