French Immersion

The goal of Niagara Catholic's French Immersion program is to develop students who confidently and competently communicate in English and French. This is done by teaching most of the curriculum in French. At the elementary level, at least 50 percent of all instruction is provided en français.

Niagara Catholic's French Immersion program begins in kindergarten and is available throughout high school.

At the elementary level, priority registration is given to siblings of students already taking French Immersion. Families are contacted about registering a sibling for French Immersion in late fall. Open French Immersion registration takes place each year from mid-January through early February. The dates are published each year on our website.

French Immersion is a very popular program with limited spaces available. We encourage families to have their accounts set up in advance so that they are ready when registration opens.

To take French Immersion in high school, students must have completed an elementary French Immersion program.
