Online safety

The health, safety, and well-being of all Niagara Catholic students is important to our staff. This includes during the time students spend outside of school.

We know you live in a very connected, online world. It only takes a second to find yourself in a space where you shouldn't be. The tips below will help keep you safe:

Never reveal information about yourself, like your name, address,  phone number, age, what you look like or which school you attend) to strangers you meet online or in any public form where people you don't know might see the information.

  • Never reveal personal information about someone else, including posting photos of them, unless you have their prior permission and you know the information will not be used for harmful purposes.
  • Never reveal or share your passwords.
  • Never send a picture of yourself, another person, or a group of people without the prior consent of everyone in the photo and, in the case of minors, their parents or guardians.
  • Never post the specific times, dates, and locations of where you might be before you leave.
  • Immediately tell a parent/guardian, teacher, or trusted adult if you receive a message or request that bothers you, frightens you, suggests someone knows where you are, or suggests personal contact with you.
