
Season 2 of the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association’s senior boys flag football league kicked off Tuesday with games at Kalar Sports Park in Niagara Falls.
“We are back at it this year and we had junior (boys) yesterday,” Niagara Catholic flag football convenor Erin Clark said. “We have six teams in action and they are thrilled to be out here. We are glad the rain stopped and it is a beautiful day for some competition.”
The senior league features two teams from Saint Paul and single squads from Denis Morris, Saint Francis, Saint Michael and Blessed Trinity. The junior league includes two teams from Blessed Trinity and single teams from Saint Francis, Lakeshore Catholic, Notre Dame, Saint Paul, Saint Michael and Denis Morris.
“Numbers are similar to last year and we are holding strong from. We have had some schools put in junior and senior teams that weren’t in last year,” Clark said. “We always have one or two that can’t make a go of it but it’s growing every year.”
