Catholic Education and Mental Health Week

Catholic Education and Mental Health Week at Niagara Catholic
Posted on 06/01/2026

Catholic Education Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in Ontario. It’s a time to reflect on the beautiful gift of Catholic education and the unique contributions Catholic schools make in nurturing faith, academic excellence, and a strong sense of community among students.

This year’s Catholic Education Week theme, Pilgrims of Hope – On the Path to Holiness, reminds us that faith is a journey we walk together. In the same spirit, Mental Health Week’s theme, 'Come Together, Canada', highlights the power of connection and to recognize the role we all play in supporting mental health through connection.
Together, these themes remind us that holiness is found in compassion, inclusion, and community. By fostering spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported, we nurture both faith and mental well-being—building a community rooted in hope, connection, care and where all are Called by Name.

Niagara Catholic's Mental Health team, Chaplaincy team and Religion and Family Life Consultant will co-host the board's annual contest, where students can submit a video, painting, song, drawing, graphic design or photo, using the theme Pilgrims of Hope on the Path to Holiness answering the question, "How will you be a messenger of hope?" Students are encouraged to answer how hope and faith inspire them and positively impact their health and well-being.

All submissions must be sent to [email protected] by Friday May 29.
