Congratulations to Nancy Cookson, a teacher at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School and this year’s Niagara Catholic recipient of the Lincoln Fabrics Award, presented by the Business Education Council (BEC).
Ms. Cookson received her award during the BEC’s annual Partners in Education Breakfast in Niagara Falls on February 5, 2016.
Ms. Cookson was selected as the 2016 recipient of the Lincoln Fabrics Teacher Award for her long-time commitment not only to the hairstyling and aesthetics students she teacher, but to the greater Niagara Community.
“Nancy Cookson has been building her relationship with Community Care for the past nine years, while a member of the teaching staff at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School,” reads the nomination submission. “As part of our traditional Christmas food and toy drive, Nancy initiated a program that would help to build confidence and self-esteem with Community Care clients. In addition to her partnership with Community Care, she uses her skills and involves her students in a variety of community events that foster a spirit of service.”Good News
