January brings with it the promise of new beginnings, and there are lots of great things happening at Niagara Catholic throughout the month. Read on for details:
Niagara Catholic’s Open House and Registration Days are January 12-14, 2016. All Grade 8 students in Niagara are invited to come to the Open House for their neighbourhood Catholic Secondary School on one of the nights.
Information about our Secondary School Open Houses, which includes how to register, and the times and dates of each school’s event, is available here. Future Thunder, Redmen, Raiders, Gators, Irish, Phoenix, Mustangs and Patriots, don’t miss your chance to be a part of an outstanding tradition in Catholic education.
Our ELKP Open House and Registration Day is January 13, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Parents and guardians of children who will turn four by December 31, 2016, are invited to register their children at their neighbourhood Catholic elementary school during the Open House, or at a time that is convenient for them. Learn more about what is required to register your child here.
January 13 is also a special day at the Catholic Education Centre. That’s the day dozens of Niagara Catholic staff bring the newest members of our Niagara Catholic family to a special Baby Day Celebration. This morning event brings together close to 1oo parents and babies for a time of socializing and fun. Thank you to our partners from the Ontario Early Years Centre, and the parenting class at Notre Dame College School, for helping make this event so much fun for everyone who attends.
Many of the youngsters who will begin their journeys in Catholic education in September attended one of our previous Baby Celebrations.
January 15 is a Professional Activity Day for our Catholic elementary schools.
January 27 is Family Literacy Day. Niagara Catholic staff have planned a special – and really fun – Family Literacy Day event. Stay tuned for more details!
And as hard as it is to believe, it’s the end of the first semester of school in our secondary schools! Our Grade 9 students will sit their first high school exams beginning on January 29, while our Grade 12s write their penultimate high school examinations as they prepare for their final semesters of secondary school. Good luck to everyone who is writing their exams in January and February!
