A pair of buddies from Denis Morris finished atop the podium Sunday in the junior men’s double at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association championships.
“Rowing with my best friend, Oliver (Bosak) is one of the best things,” said Boris Osei-Kissi. “It’s really important because it gives us great chemistry.”
He began to believe the double could win Schoolboy gold after its performance at the Mothers Day Regatta.
“We got first place and it was the way that the boat felt. It felt really good.”
The gold medal wasn’t easy.
“At the end, one of the other boats started catching up to us so we let everything out and emptied the tank,” Osei-Kissi said.
He didn’t know what he was feeling when the boat crossed the finish line in first place.
