The Blessed Trinity Thunder senior football team rode a bevy of big plays to a 46-32 win over the visiting Saint Michael Mustangs Thursday night in Niagara Catholic Athletic Association play.

Blessed Trinity grabbed a 6-0 lead on the third play of the game on an 80-yard pick six by Brody Graham-James and never looked back, piling up the points despite recording only eight first downs in the game.

“The game plan was to try and eat the clock and keep their capable offence and quarterback off the field but the best laid plans and all that,” BT head coach Sean Jones said. “Man we had some kids step up tonight and make some huge plays. Jesse (Boreyko) was awesome today and we got some huge plays from our defence: a couple of picks and a fumble recovery.”
