Ava Briggs was playing travel basketball during her Grade 9 year at Notre Dame when she decided she wanted to try something different.
She tried out for the field lacrosse team at Notre Dame and that decision started her on the path to her recent commitment to play the sport for the University of Guelph.
“I fell in love with it and it became the sport that I wanted to do,” the Grade 12 student said. “I think I got really lucky with the team here at Notre Dame and the atmosphere here built my confidence up as an athlete. That translated to other teams that I played lacrosse for.”
