Brynn Sartor chooses home close to home

Brynn Sartor made an early commitment to play scholarship lacrosse at Arizona State but the pull of being close to home was just too strong to ignore.
“They were my dream school. It was a great school with great coaching but it was just too far away for me. When I got close to signing, I realized that I was a six-hour flight from home,” said the 17-year-old Grimsby resident during a recent signing ceremony at Blessed Trinity.
The Grade 12 student had offers from a number of other schools before something close to home came knocking,
“Recently I met Russ (Canisius head coach Russell Allen). My Team Canada team played against his Canisius team in a fun day tournament and I loved the campus and saw how much of a positive coach he was to his team and how encouraging and engaging he was,” the Grade 12 student said. “It got me thinking about that and when he reached out I was so excited and happy.”
