Flags and pigskin were flying Thursday afternoon as the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association varsity girls flag football season began at Kalar Sports Park in Niagara Falls.

All eight Niagara Catholic high schools participated with each team playing a doubleheader as they will for the next four weeks before the playoffs begin with the top four teams.

Niagara Catholic District School Board flag football convenor Erin Clark, who also helps coach the Denis Morris Reds, was thrilled to be back on the gridiron.
