
Alex Forrest is all of a sudden the owner of an impressive jewellery collection.
The 16-year-old St Catharines native, already on the list to collect an Ontario Hockey League championship ring with the Kitchener Rangers and a Sutherland Cup ring as a member of the Cambridge Redhawks, can now add a Memorial Cup ring to his collection after the Rangers defeated the Everett Silvertips 6-2 in Kelowna, B.C., Sunday night for the organization’s third title emblematic of junior hockey supremacy in Canada.
“It’s been awesome,” said Forrest, who returned to Ontario just hours following the Rangers victory. “Very fortunate to be a part of two obviously great groups in Cambridge and Kitchener. Awesome coaching staffs, organizations, and players on both ends.”
Forrest, who practised with the Rangers following Cambridge’s Sutherland Cup victory, was in British Columbia with the team working out and keeping ready to play, just in case.
