On May 8th, Indigenous students from Niagara Catholic secondary schools were invited to Heartland Forest Nature Experience for what is set to become an annual Indigenous Student Voice Gathering.
Throughout the day, students took part in team-building activities and various Land Based Learning activities.
This gathering is part of a larger initiative to establish an Indigenous Student Senate—empowering students from Indigenous communities to confidently share their perspectives and advocate for Indigenous voices within their schools.
