Ashton Khory has taken another significant step towards his dream of playing professional soccer.
The 17-year-old Beamsville resident’s road to the pros will now run through Division I James Madison University in Virginia where he has accepted a scholarship to play soccer and study business.
“It’s a very nice school, very pretty,” Khory said. “When I went on my official visit, I was stunned by the facilities. They were top tier. Just everything in general, the fields, the freshly cut grass, it was perfect.
“It really amazed me. And also the program is very known. My goal in the future is to play professional and that’s a program that will allow me to do that. So that’s one of my main reasons I picked it.”
Khory, who also visited Penn State, is relieved to have his immediate future mapped out.
