Niagara Catholic held its annual Lead Out Loud Student Conference November 26, focused on diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
Lead out Loud is an opportunity for 100 elementary student council members to focus on their leadership skills, creating Niagara Catholic’s next generation of student leaders. The conference at St. Alfred Parish was led by Niagara Catholic’s Student Senate, and featured presentations and workshops by Harmony Movement, an organization focused on challenging us all to create happier, healthier, more equitable schools, workplaces, and communities.
Program Facilitators Taraneh Vejdani and Patrick de Belen inspired our elementary student leaders to challenge their biases and empower themselves and the people around them to be leaders.
Students learned about their leadership style through team-based activities, and individual and group reflection. As a follow up, action plans will be created by Family of Schools Student Councils to bring the new learning to their councils and school communities.
