Matt Vinc caps record-breaking lacrosse career

Posted on 09/09/2026

Congratulations to Denis Morris Catholic High School teacher Matt Vinc, who recently retired from his 20-year professional lacrosse career.

Matt is one of the greatest goaltenders the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the sport has ever seen. He retires from the Buffalo Bandits as the league’s all-time leader in regular season wins (182), saves (11,824), and minutes played (17,836). He was also the league’s Goaltender of the Year a record eight times.

Throughout his career, Matt played for the Rochester Knighthawks (earning three consecutive NLL titles in 2012, 2013, and 2014), the San Jose Stealth, the New York and Orlando Titans, and the Buffalo Bandits, helping them to three consecutive league titles from 2023-2025.

Congratulations, Matt, on your stellar professional sports career!
