Unbeaten as a pro boxer, James Hughes is not yet using the word retired when it comes to his involvement in the sport.

“I haven’t fought since last March but I am still training for fun. I don’t have anything scheduled,” said the 25-year-old St. Catharines native, who will be inducted as a Niagara Boxing Legend during the St. Catharines Boxing Club’s Niagara Legends Boxing Show Friday, March 27 at the Merritton Community Centre.

“There have been a lot of contract issues and I was having a hard time finding fights and opponents. I don’t know if I am officially retired but it’s just very slow right now.”

Hughes has a 3-0 record as a pro with two knockouts. His pro fights stand out amongst his career highlights.
