
Niagara Catholic’s chaplaincy team welcomed approximately 100 Catholic school chaplains from across Ontario to Niagara May 13-15 for the Catholic School Chaplains of Ontario (CSCO) annual conference.
The event was held at the beautiful and historic Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre in Niagara Falls, and the theme was Mama Knows Best, Ministering with the Heart of Mary.
Tuesday’s keynote address by author, educator, film maker and theologian Dr. Josephine Lombardi focused on Listening Like Mary.
On Wednesday, participants took part in sessions focused on being a child of God, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and dealing with traumatic events, led by Niagara Catholic’s Manager of Mental Health and Well-Being. Following lunch, workshops included a flower arranging class based on Our Lady’s Garden, icon painting, meditation, interfaith ministry, and meditation. The afternoon concluded with Mass in the Mount Carmel chapel, followed by dinner and a social.
The conference wrapped up Thursday with a sunrise prayer based on the rosary, a closing liturgy and the CSCO Annual General Meeting.
