Niagara Conservatory Donates to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
Posted on 12/20/2024

Christmas came early for the students at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School, thanks to a generous donation from the Niagara Conservatory of Music. As part of their Music Gives Movement, the Conservatory gifted the school 24 ukuleles, a guitar, and a set of cajón drums.

To celebrate, the school hosted a special assembly with all the students, staff, and a surprise guest—Santa Claus—who helped unveil the brand-new instruments. It was a festive occasion that brought holiday cheer and excitement to the whole school.

The Music Gives program, run by the Niagara Conservatory of Music, is dedicated to helping children discover their musical talents, especially those who may not have the opportunity otherwise. In partnership with ProKids, an organization affiliated with the YMCA that funds extracurricular activities for families in need, the program provides funding for music lessons, donates instruments to schools, and supports other musical initiatives.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Melissa Severy, the music teacher at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, for applying for the grant and coordinating the donation. Her dedication to bringing music into the lives of her students made this wonderful gift possible.
