Noah Latham made his last jump at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships a memorable one.

Already assured a gold medal in the novice boys triple jump, the Grade 9 student at Notre Dame jumped 13.94 metres Saturday at the Niagara Olympic Club to break the OFSAA record of 13.74 metres, set in 2015 by Joshua Hanghton of Marguerite d’Youville.

“It feels pretty good but I was prepared for this,” the 15-year old Welland resident said. “I’ve been training all season for this with my dad and my coach, Clayton Latham, who coaches Tyrique Woodside who set an OFSAA record last year. He runs us through a lot of hardcore training and it takes a lot out of us. With that training, I knew the results were going to come.”
