Demarco Perry talked the talk, then walked the walk.

The 17-year-old, Grade 12 student is a vocal leader for the Denis Morris Reds, never afraid to challenge a teammate to be better when the situation arises.

Perry admitted he was on both Bishop Austin and London Perdue this week, so when he stepped to the foul line with the game on the line, he knew he had to lead by example.

Perry sank three free throws with 13 seconds remaining as the Reds edged the Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs 65-62 in a championship round semifinal game Thursday night at the 62nd Annual Standard High School Basketball Tournament.
