Bishop Austin came through when the Denis Morris Reds needed him the most.

Missing starters Travis Palmer (vacation) and Marley Smith (injury), the 15-year-old, Grade 10 student filled in admirably hitting for 17 points to pace the Reds past the Blessed Trinity Thunder 58-41 in a championship round quarterfinal game Tuesday at the 62nd Annual Standard High School Basketball Tournament.

“We called in Bishop knowing he would fill that role very well to come off the bench,” DM coach Wade Pychel said. “Very athletic, very smart basketball player, loves the game. And you could see it in his passion, the way he plays the game.
