Saint Paul hosts Secondary Music Festival

Saint Paul Catholic Secondary hosts Annual Secondary Instrumental Music Festival
Posted on 04/10/2025

Malcom Hauber, a grade 12 student from Denis Morris, stood with pride as each whimsical note from his violin danced through the air for the adjudicators. He was one of the 200 students who participated in Niagara Catholic’s Second Annual Secondary Instrumental Music Festival

The vibrant event, hosted at Saint Paul Catholic High School, celebrated the incredible talents of our students through a wide range of performances - featuring everything from brass, percussion, and wind instruments, to passionately performed rock beats and soulful vocals.

Seven musical groups from Niagara Catholic high schools united their shared love of music and the chance to showcase their artistry. The festival lineup included the Notre Dame College Jazz Band, the Blessed Trinity Concert Band, Holy Cross/Saint Francis Concert Band, the Saint Paul Concert Band, Lakeshore Catholic’s Concert Band, Denis Morris’ band, and the Saint Michael band!

Thank you to Niagara Catholic’s director of education, Camillo Cipriano, for taking the time to share some meaningful words with our students about following their passions while enjoying this talent-filled display. Mr. Cipriano celebrated the amazing performances while thanking the arts and humanities-focused teaching staff for their inspirational impact on our students.

As we reflect on the success of the Niagara Catholic Secondary Instrumental Music Festival, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved. From the talented students who poured their hearts into their performances to the dedicated educators and staff who made this event possible, each contribution enriched our community. A huge thank you to adjudicators, Steve Fralick, Zoltan Kalman, Shawn Spicer, and Olivia and Borys of the band Junestone for coming out to support our students!

In the words of Mr. Cipriano, “a good teacher explains, a great teacher inspires.” Thank you for giving back to our Catholic community by using your God-given gifts to inspire our students.

This annual festival event would not have been possible without the fantastic staff and students at Saint Paul who coordinated and hosted yesterday's events.

We look forward to seeing what the future holds for our young musicians and their continued passion for music. We can’t wait to come together for next year’s festival!
