What a difference a year made for Lookout Point’s Stefi Markovich.
Last year in her first year of eligibility (50-plus) to compete in the Ontario Senior Ladies Golf Championship at the Spring Lakes Golf Club in Stouffville, the self-admitted Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde golfer, blew up on the final day, paired in the final group with Canadian senior golf legends Mary-Ann Hayward and Judith Kyrinis. In her defence, it was early in the season, she was coming off a year where she didn’t play and she wasn’t close to enough on the final day to challenge for the title.
“I was thinking to just relax and work on things. Well it imploded and it was probably the worst game of my tournament career. It was terrible and I couldn’t stop the bleeding. I wanted to walk off but I knew I needed to stay.”
