It took a year, but the Saint Michael Mustangs got even with the Blessed Trinity Thunder.
The Mustangs defeated the Thunder 3-2 (25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 19-25, 19-17) Wednesday at BT to avenge a five-set loss in last year’s Niagara Catholic Athletic Association senior boys volleyball Zone 4 AAA championship.
When the epic, dramatic match finally ended, the Mustangs poured on the court to celebrate before accepting the championship trophy and posing for pictures.
“Oh, it was amazing,” Saint Mike’s Ethan Perri said. “The intensity, the camaraderie between both teams. It was just an amazing match to be a part of. I’m so thankful I was.”
