Congratulations to the Niagara Catholic technology students who participated at Skills Ontario in Toronto May 5-6.
Gold-medal winners from Niagara Catholic’s Technology Skills Competition squared off against competitors from across the province. When it was done, two Niagara Catholic students emerged as best in province in their events, one finished second, and six finished third – an impressive showing again this year!
Notre Dame College School’s Alessandra Maddalena took the top spot in the hairstyling competition, and Philobatir Wahba, a student at Saint Paul Catholic High School, who won gold in coding. Alessandra will travel to Skills Canada in Regina to compete against Canada’s top hairstyling students at Skills Canada in June.
Saint Michael Catholic High School’s Nicole Castro finished with a silver medal in Aesthetics. Bronze medals were awarded to:
- Matteo Volpini and Jesse Pook from Blessed Trinity - Horticulture and Landscape, Team of Two
- Timmy Oke (Denis Morris Catholic High School) and Bradley Williams (Notre Dame College School) - 2D Character Animation, Team of Two
- Ugnius Saltenis and Ayden Guidry-Grandmond (Denis Morris Catholic High School) – 3D Character Animation, Team of Two
Congratulations, everyone!
