Samacki Thomas will be hard-pressed to surpass his track and field performance from last season.

In 2024, the Grade 10 student at Saint Paul was a triple champion at the Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association championships and South Regionals before winning Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ silver medals in the novice boys 200 metres and long jump, and a bronze medal in the 100 metres.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Athletics Niagara runner — he has only been running at the club level since last spring — was a triple gold medalist at the Legion nationals in the 100-metre relay, medley relay and long jump. He finished the season as the top-ranked long jumper in Canada in his age category.
