Thunder top Lynx; Reds dump Redcoats

The Blessed Trinity Thunder defeated the St. Jean-de-Brebeuf Lynx 48-34 in an opening round game at the BPSN High School Girls Basketball Tournament Tuesday at Ridley College.

Jaylen Steinstra paced the winners with 14 while Brooklyn Turner added 10.

Malaury Aka had 18 and Josee Regala 15 for the Lynx.

Thunder coach Gabe Diadamo has high hopes for the Thunder this season after BT dropped a 57-49 decision to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Niagara Catholic Athletic Association AAA basketball final last season.
