
Blessed Trinity rower Olivia Wist is an advocate for size not mattering.
“That is something that has been really hard for me. A lot of schools won’t even look at me because I am not taller than 5-foot-10,” the Grade 12 student at Blessed Trinity said, following her commitment to NCAA Division 1 UConn on a rowing scholarship.
“I beat all the tall girls on the water because I weigh less but since they are taller and have a little bit better erg scores than me because of their height, I got really overlooked in my recruiting process.”
Some schools made the 16-year-old Grimsby resident offers but the money involved was not good enough because of her height.
