Niagara Catholic Remembers

Schools across Niagara Catholic marked Remembrance Day on November 11 with solemn ceremonies and by participating in civic events in our communities.

No Canadians remain from the Great War, the War to End All Wars, and those who remain from the Second World War, the war that followed, are mostly in their 90s. Soldiers from the Korean War are also advancing in age and are often unable to make it to schools to share their stories of war and the importance of peace.

We are grateful to those Canadian soldiers from more recent conflicts – and for the peacekeepers – who visit our students to help them understand the impact war has on humanity.
