Students and staff at St. John Catholic Elementary School in Beamsville celebrated World Autism Awareness Day on April 2 with a number of activities. Each class created a puzzle piece for a display in the front foyer, and Graydon Blake, a Grade 2 student, led the day’s prayers today with the support of his big brother Kier, who is in Grade 4. Will Burleigh, who is also in Grade 2, shared his story, “My Big Brother has Autism.”
Staff and students wore blue ribbons of support and a special Autism Awareness flag, created by ERT Anna Richter. The day’s events were organized by EAs at the school.
