St. Michael Principal One of Seven CPCO Principals of the Year

Congratulations to Blaine MacDougall, Principal of St. Michael Catholic Elementary School in Niagara-on-the-Lake, who was recently selected by his peers to be one of seven principals across Ontario to receive a Principal of the Year Award from the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario.

Mr. MacDougall was selected by principals to receive the award for the Central/West region of Ontario, which includes Catholic school boards in Hamilton, Wellington, Simcoe, York and Halton.

Board Chair Father Paul MacNeil credited Mr. MacDougall for his commitment not only to his students at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School, but to students across Niagara Catholic.

“Mr. MacDougall is an outstanding administrator, and is certainly very deserving of this honour,” said Chair MacNeil. “In addition to his responsibilities as Principal of St. Michael Catholic Elementary School, he is also very involved in the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario, and assists in administering the Niagara Catholic Principal/Vice Principal’s Helping Hands Fund to assist families in times of crisis. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am proud to congratulate Mr. MacDougall on being selected for this honour.”

Director of Education John Crocco also offered his congratulations to Mr. MacDougall.

“We are exceptionally proud of Mr. MacDougall for being selected by his colleagues for this very prestigious recognition,” said Mr. Crocco, who attended the Awards Gala where recipients were recognized. “We know that Blaine provides outstanding leadership at St. Michael Catholic, and for the community it serves, and it is truly an honour to have had someone from Niagara Catholic selected as one of the Council of Catholic Principals of Ontario’s Principals of the Year. He, and his colleagues throughout Niagara Catholic, represent the very best in Catholic educational leadership in Ontario.”
